On December 10th, the 2020 Suzhou Silk Road Forum was held in RUC Suzhou Campus. More than 100 scholars and students domestic and abroad gathered together to have conversations on topics about the 14th five-year plan, One Belt and One Road education research and think tank development.

Prof. ZHU Xinkai, Vice President RUC and Dean of Silk Road School, put forward three suggestions for the future development of RUC Silk Road School. The first suggestion was to gather resources for future development and to carry out more all-round strategic collaborations with domestic brother colleges and universities. The second suggestion was to explore industry-university-research innovative mode, and explore collaborations with educational peers on broader platforms. The third was to accumulate academic achievements and strengthen the research of the Silk Road School, so as to build up China's international discourse power in One Belt and One Road construction.

Mr. Danilo Türk, Former President of Slovenia, and Mr. Essam Sharaf, former Prime Minister of Egypt, congratulated the opening of the first Suzhou Silk Road Forum and delivered video keynote speeches.
Prof. WANG Wen, Deputy Dean of RUC Silk Road School, announced the Joint Initiative of Suzhou Silk Road Forum. The participating guests jointly initiated the One Belt and One Road International Alliance of Higher Education.

This year’s forum consisted of two specialist seminars on the themes of "The 14th Five-Year Plan to Promote Co-Construction of One Belt and One Road” and "One Belt and One Road Education Research and Think Tank Development.” In the seminars, students from the RUC Silk Road School presented questions in their field of interest, and the experts answered the questions with professional knowledge and their own experience.
