In order to promote the exchange of educational experience between China and Brazil, and to build a dialogue platform for scholars in the field of higher education and basic education, the China-Brazil Academic Dialogue on Education in China and Brazil in the 21st Century was held on May 10-13th. The conference was jointly hosted by Renmin University of China, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, the University of São Paulo and the Federal University of Bahia. The conference focused on topics such as education systems, teaching objectives, teaching concepts and curriculum construction in basic and higher education in both countries. The meeting was an academic exchange held on the basis of the cooperation signed between RUC School of Marxism and the Federal University of Bahia. The two sides signed a cooperation agreement in December 2019. The conference consisted of four panels with the following themes: "The Basic Education Systems in China and Brazil," "The Methods, Goals, Value and Assessment of Basic Education in China and Brazil," "The Higher Education Systems in China and Brazil," and "The Methods, Goals, Value and Construction of Higher Education in China and Brazil." The closing ceremony of the China-Brazil dialogue was held on May 13th.
