On June 23rd, the opening ceremony of 2021 Renmin University of China International Summer School was held. Administration group of the International Summer School Program, heads of colleges and teacher representatives attended the meeting. A total of 115 teachers and students of overseas universities participated in the opening ceremony online. The 2021 RUC International Summer School will be from June 28^th to July 23rd online. 125 teachers from 25 countries and regions have opened 122 courses. More than 4,200 RUC students and 182 overseas students from 15 countries and regions signed up for the courses. At the opening ceremony, 11 teachers were awarded "Honorary International Summer School Teachers” for their long-term support and outstanding contributions to RUC Summer School. RUC Vice President HU Baijing awarded certificates to the honorary teachers. Professor SUN Jianmin from the School of Labor and Human Resources and Professor JIN Xi from the School of International Relations presented speeches on behalf of the awarded honorary teachers. Prof. SUN said that RUC international summer school program is an important way for students to carry out cross-disciplinary study. Through the international summer school program, students gain opportunities to communicate and learn with teachers and students from world-class universities. Prof. JIN said that the international summer school is an important learning experience for students with lasting impact. She encouraged students to take full advantage of the international summer school platform to learn and communicate with each other. From 2009, RUC International Summer School has been aiming at "domestic internationalization" and "internationalization in both directions." Every summer RUC International Summer School invites teachers from top universities around the world to offer courses in English, while international students are welcomed to share classes with RUC students. Due to global epidemic, 2021 RUC International Summer School will offer all courses online.
