On June 13th, the final of the 23rd FLTRP▪ ETIC Cup National English Debate Competition was held in Beijing. Renmin University of China English Debate Team emerged from more than 400 teams and finally won national first team prize and best debaters. It was the best result RUC English Debate Team have had in the FLTRP▪ ETIC Cup. Since its inception, RUC English Debate Team has trained English debate winners in many competitions domestic and abroad. It has also organized debate competitions in Beijing in cooperation with other universities. For six years in a row RUC debaters have won national first prize and best debaters in the FLTRP Cup, which showed the outstanding English proficiency and critical thinking ability of RUC students. Winner debaters of this year were RUC English Debate Team President and Vice President, LIU Zining from the School of Philosophy and WU Xinxuan from the School of History. Dr. YAO Xinle from the School of Foreign Languages provided trainings as the team mentor.
