On July 4th, more than 3,700 RUC class of 2020 alumnus returned to campus to attend the degree-awarding ceremony for the class of 2020. Prof. JIN Nuo, Chairwoman of the RUC University Board, hosted the ceremony. She welcomed the class of 2020 back to school after a year’s separation. RUC President Prof. LIU Wei announced the decision of degree awarding to the class of 2020, and congratulated all the graduates on behalf of the university. Graduate student representative, Dr. YANG Junhua expressed gratefulness to the university for the specially organized commencement, which allowed them to join together for a long awaited reunion and celebration. Faculty representative, Prof. CHENG Guangwei reminded the class of 2020 to keep the habit of lifelong learning, and strive to become "models of citizens and pillars for the society" as RUC alumnus. While all the participants sang RUC school song, RUC flag entered the hall with flags of different schools and departments. Returning graduates received a homecoming gift package, including tags and stickers of their own schools and RUC commemorative socks. reunion photo shoots and nostalgic lunch in the school dinner were also held. Due to the global epidemic, Renmin University of China held 2020 commencement online on June 30th, 2020. All the graduates of the class of 2020 fully cooperated with the requirements of epidemic-prevention, actively adapted to online courses and online oral defenses, and went through a memorable and special graduation season.
