On September 4^th local time, the Confucius Institute at the University of Geneva held the 12^th Chinese language teachers training in Switzerland. Dr. Modesto CORDERI NOVOA from Spain provided training in performative teaching techniques and game design for local Chinese teachers and graduate students at the University of Geneva. The performative language teaching technique applies techniques in drama performance to language teaching. It creats various communicative and interactive classroom activities. Dr. CORDERI NOVOA believes that language teachers should be like directors: the students are the actors, the classroom is the stage, and the textbook is the script. The teachers who participated in the training said that the dramatic teaching method is very enlightening and practical for activating the classroom atmosphere and improving classroom communicative exercises. They will try to use it in the new semester.
