In accordance with the cooperation agreement signed by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), the two sides will jointly fund research in COVID-19-related fields to support scientists of the two countries to carry out innovative research and cooperation. Prof. CHENG Xusen (Department of Economic Information Management, School of Information) and his team was selected for a funding of two million yuan for their research project “Interaction Mechanism of Risk Perception, Emergency Reaction, and Emotion Change between Chinese and Korean Societies in Major Public Health Emergencies.” This is the first time RUC has received funding from the joint project of NSFC and NRF.
Led by Prof. CHENG, the Chinese team consists of researchers from the School of Information RUC, Central University of Finance and Economics, and Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The Korean team will be led by Prof. Taeho Hong from Pusan National University.
The results of the project will provide theoretical reference for improving international collaboration in public health management. The Chinese and Korean teams will continue their active cooperation and conduct a series of studies to contribute to decision-making on public emergency management in the context of global epidemic.
