2021 China-Egypt Forum on Smart Medicare & Senior Care Was Held

On September 18th, 2021 China-Egypt Forum on Smart Medicare & Senior Care was jointly held by Renmin University of China and Ain Shams University. The forum focused on the development of smart medical care and senior care in the post-pandemic era.


RUC President Prof. LIU Wei welcomed all the distinguished guests on behalf of Renmin University of China. He pointed out that the academic exchanges and industrial collaborations between Chinese and Egyptian experts on innovative technologies and industrial standards in smart medical care will undoubtedly enhance consensus and boost the development of smart medical care in both countries.


Ain Shams University President Mahmoud El Meteini delivered a speech on behalf of Ain Shams University. He said that China and Egypt both face the challenge of aging populations. He hoped that the two universities would strengthen cooperation in teaching, research, and public services to develop simple and low-cost technologies for the elderly.

Prof. DU Peng, RUC Vice President and Director of the Institute of Gerontology, reported on the challenges and opportunities that the Internet has brought to the lives of older people in China.

Prof. XU Qinhua, Vice President of the RUC National Academy of Development and Strategy, hosted the forum. She introduced the background of the forum and reviewed the history of cooperation between RUC National Academy of Development and Strategy and Ain Shams University.

Three Chinese and three Egyptian experts delivered keynote speeches on smart medical care research and application in the post-epidemic era during the keynote session.

This forum was a sub-forum of the second One Belt and One Road Green Conference. The Chinese and Egyptian experts had in-depth exchanges on the research and application of intelligent medical care. They provided an opportunity for further cooperation between scholars from both sides in this field.
