Renmin University of China (RUC) held the second “China and the World Dialogue” international forum held at on October 19th.
The forum was organized by the Research Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at RUC. Experts and scholars from 17 countries, including China, the United States, Brazil, Australia, the United Kingdom, and others, gathered to discuss topics related to Chinese-style modernization.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Wang Yi, Vice President of RUC. She highlighted the importance of Chinese-style modernization, emphasizing its roots in China’s national conditions and its global significance. RUC has been a leader in humanities and social sciences higher education.
During the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Du Peng, Vice President of RUC, Yu Tao, Deputy Director of China International Communications Group (CICG), and Gao Peiyong, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
Du Peng discussed the significance of discussing Chinese-style modernization from an international perspective and the importance of learning from the experiences of countries worldwide. He expressed hope that the forum would contribute to the development of the theoretical system of Chinese-style modernization.
Yu Tao, on behalf of CICG, congratulated the successful organization of the forum and emphasized the importance of dialogue among civilizations and sharing China’s story of modernization with the world.
Gao Peiyong shared five viewpoints during the forum.
Qin Xuan, Dean of the Research Institute of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at RUC, delivered the conference summary.
The forum brought together over 40 scholars from six continents and 17 countries. They shared profound insights and practical recommendations, drawing from their historical and cultural backgrounds and research expertise, on the theme “Chinese-Style Modernization from an International Perspective”.
