On March 18th, with the renovation completed, the football field at the northern campus of RUC was officially open, where an alumni football match was inaugurated.

Zhang Donggang, the Chair of the University Council, attended the opening ceremony and kicked off the first match. Zhu Xinkai, Executive Vice President, and Zheng Xinye, Vice President, also attended the ceremony and Vice President Feng Shipeng presided over the event.

The alumni football match has four teams participated: the Shangongren Team composed of faculty, the Baotashan Team composed of male students, the Tongxinyuan Team composed of female student and high-level male football players, and the Kanhuagong Team composed of alumni representatives. After intense competition, the Shangongren Team ultimately won the championship.

“The gathering faculty, students, and alumni at the newly renovated North Campus football field in early spring to hold a football match is an important measure for the university to strengthen its sports work, and cultivate a good sports culture". In his opening speech, Zhang Donggang pointed out that the alumni football match served as an important measure of sports education at RUC.

Zhang also expected that all the faculty, students, and alumni could fully enjoy the football match, hoping that they could “exert vigor, foster friendship, build up a healthy body and appreciate the spirit of sports”.

In the opening ceremony, Zhu Xinkai announced the official opening of the North Campus football field.

RUC has long been dedicated to creating a good campus atmosphere conducive to the development of sports. The renovation and opening of the football field demonstrate RUC’s efforts to promote the university’s sports activities.
