The delegation of Renmin University of China (RUC) led by Zheng Xinye, Vice President of RUC, visited Serbia from April 16th to April 20th.
During the visit to Serbia, the delegation visited the University of Belgrade, the University of Novi Sad, and the Institute of International Politics and Economics of Serbia, and paid a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Serbia.
On the morning of April 17th, the delegation visited the University of Belgrade. Ratko Ristic, Vice President of the University of Belgrade, met with the delegation. Zheng Xinye expressed that the University of Belgrade was sincerely invited to participate in the cooperation and promote bilateral academic and cultural exchanges. Ratko Ristic also expected deeper cooperation in the future.
On the afternoon of April 17th, the delegation visited the University of Novi Sad. Dejan Madić, President of the University of Novi Sad, met with the delegation. Zheng Xinye stated that the University of Novi Sad is an important partner of RUC in Central and Eastern Europe. RUC sincerely invited the University of Novi Sad to join the "China-Central and Eastern European Countries Consortium for Economic Discipline Construction," providing strong support for the economic, social, and cultural development of various countries. Dejan Madić expressed his hope for further cooperation with RUC as well.
The two sides also discussed matters such as strengthening youth exchanges and talent training cooperation, promoting exchanges between scholars from both universities and expanding joint research cooperation.
On the morning of April 18th, the delegation visited the Chinese Embassy in Serbia. Tang Dasheng, Yuan Jigang, and Xie Bo, Counselors, and Directors of the Political Section of the Embassy, respectively, met with the delegation. Zheng Xinye, on behalf of RUC, expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in Serbia for its strong support and assistance in various works of the university. Tang Dasheng hoped that RUC would continue to strengthen high-level exchanges and cooperation with Serbian universities, produce more cooperative results, and make greater contributions to the comprehensive deepening of educational cooperation between the two countries.
On the morning of April 19th, the delegation visited the Institute of International Politics and Economics of Serbia. Branislav Djordjevic, Director of the Institute of International Politics and Economics of Serbia, met with the delegation. Zheng Xinye expressed that RUC looks forward to jointly establishing a joint research team with the Institute of International Politics and Economics of Serbia, producing a batch of landmark results with important international influence, building a new cooperation mechanism and contributing to the development of China-Serbia and China-Central and Eastern Europe relations in the new era. Branislav expressed that the two sides should carry out pragmatic cooperation in areas such as research on the community of destiny between China and Central and Eastern Europe, think tank research, and the establishment of new cooperation mechanisms. It is hoped that with the delegation's visit as an opportunity, cooperation between the two sides will enter a new stage.
The visit is aimed at actively implementing the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, and promoting the dissemination of Chinese voices, theories, and thoughts, as well as deepening cooperation with key universities in Belt and Road countries. It’s also expected to foster platforms for enhancing exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations and construct an all-round, multi-level, broad-spectrum, proactive international cooperation network.
