RUC and the Palace Museum signed a strategic cooperation agreement on April 29, 2024.
The signing of the agreement aims to carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture, deeply grasp the outstanding characteristics of Chinese civilization, and shoulder the cultural mission.
The two sides aim to give full play to their respective unique strengths in education and culture, deepen cooperation and exchanges, and jointly contribute to building a better country with great cultures, education and human resources, thus strengthening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Wang Xudong, Director of the Palace Museum, Du Haijiang, Deputy Director of the Museum and Lou Wei, Executive Deputy Director of the Museum attended the meeting.
From RUC’s side, Zhang Donggang, Chair of the University Council, Lin Shangli, President of RUC and Zheng Shuiquan, Vice Chair of the University Council were present.
Officials from other relevant departments of the Palace Museum and RUC also attended the meeting.
Wang Yuegong, Vice President of the Palace Museum, and Wang Yi, Vice President of RUC and Head of the aesthetic education work leading group of RUC, signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of the two sides respectively.
Luo Xianliang, Deputy Director of the Palace Museum, presided over the signing ceremony.
Wang Xudong, Director of the Palace Museum, said that the museum, with its unique cultural heritage resources and a team of professional experts on culture and museums, has achieved fruitful results in tapping the historical value, artistic value, scientific and technological value and times value contained in human cultural heritage.
Wang also said that the Palace Museum and RUC have a good foundation for cooperation, and are willing to actively expand cooperation in personnel training and discipline construction, jointly build a platform for diversified and infiltrating aesthetic education to jointly build and share resources, and promote the construction of professional degrees in Palace Museum studies and museums.
Wang expressed the hope that the cooperation between the two sides will bear fruit as soon as possible, promoting the integration and development of culture, museum and education, thus making greater contributions to the construction of a better world with great cultures, education and talents.
Zhang Donggang, Chair of the University Council, expressed the hope that the two sides will join hands to strive to implement the fundamental task of fostering morality and cultivating talents with culture, education and humanistic mind, and build a new civilization research platform and promote the construction of the Palace Museum.
Zhang also said that RUC is willing to work together with the Palace Museum to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with cultural confidence, share cultural missions, and strengthen international communication capacity building, promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
