On July 16, RUC Vice President Zheng Xinye met with the delegation of the "Knowing China - China-U.S. Academic Impact Plan."
Zheng Xinye welcomed the delegation and briefly introduced the history and basic situation of RUC. Zheng pointed out that RUC has always adhered to a spirit of innovation and a strong sense of social responsibility, cultivating generations of outstanding talents who meet the needs of the times. Currently, RUC is conducting in-depth research in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, ethnic equality, climate change, aging, and artificial intelligence. In the future, RUC hopes to deepen and expand academic exchanges with American universities in these areas and welcomes experts, scholars, and young students from American universities to conduct on-site research and collaboration, contributing to addressing globally important issues that concern humanity.
Members of the delegation introduced their respective universities and international cooperation projects. They expressed that in the face of global challenges such as climate change, food shortages, water scarcity, and the energy crisis, higher education institutions bear an unshirkable shared responsibility. In the future, they look forward to strengthening academic exchanges with RUC through collaborative teaching, short and long-term programs, and joint research, pooling Sino-American academic wisdom to address global issues.
Representatives from Norfolk State University, Fort Valdosta State University, Texas Southern University, Georgia College & State University, Jacksonville State University, Appalachian State University, Salem State University, and China Center for International Educational Exchange, as well as related officials from RUC's International Office, School of Foreign Languages, School of Business, and School of Chinese Studies and Cultural Exchange attended the meeting.
