Lin Shangli Met with Teng Jinguang, President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University

On October 30th, Lin Shangli, President of Renmin University of China (RUC), met with Teng Jinguang, President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and his delegation. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as further promoting the interdisciplinary integration and development of humanities, science and technology.

 

Lin Shangli pointed out that RUC is known as a banner in the field of higher education in  humanities and social sciences in China. In recent years, RUC has focused on promoting the development of science and engineering disciplines, and has made great progress in the construction of disciplines such as artificial intelligence. A number of teaching and research institutions such as Institute of Global Governance and Development have been established. It is hoped that the two universities can further deepen cooperation in discipline construction, academic innovation, consulting and education, and jointly promote interdisciplinary integration.

 

Teng Jinguang said that PolyU is a world-renowned university that focuses on practical research and always pursues excellence. It is committed to cultivating talents with patriotism, global vision and social responsibility. It is hoped that the two universities will give full play to their disciplinary advantages and further strengthen cooperation in areas such as data application, artificial intelligence, computer and mathematical sciences.

 

Faculty staff from the Graduate School, Science and Engineering Discipline Development Office, International Cooperation and Exchange Office, School of Business and other relevant departments and colleges of RUC; heads and experts from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Aeronautical and Civil Aviation Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Management and Marketing of PolyU attended the meeting.
