Delegation of RUC met with delegation of Faculty of Arts, Languages, Literature and Humanities at Sorbonne University

Zheng Xinye, Vice President of Renmin University of China (RUC) and Director of the Suzhou Campus Management Committee, met with Béatrice Perez, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Languages, Literature and Humanities at Sorbonne University on Oct. 28th.


During the meeting, Zheng highlighted the decade-long collaborative achievements of the Sino-French Institute, jointly established by RUC and three French universities, particularly in expanding academic cooperation and advancing disciplinary development.

Béatrice Perez praised the institute's rapid progress in talent cultivation and academic exchange and expressed eagerness to enhance cooperation in French-speaking regions and food security.

Joah Valadou, French Consul General in Shanghai, emphasized the institute’s impact on fostering academic innovation and cultural ties, hoping it would continue to support Sino-French friendship and cultural exchange.

Other attendees include Salomé Antoine, Science Deputy Consul at the French Consulate General in Shanghai, Salomé Rodrigues, Higher Education Program Officer of the Cultural and Educational Cooperation Department; Wang Xiaohu, Executive Deputy Director of the Suzhou Campus Management Committee and Dean of the Sino-French Institute; Jean-Francois Vergnand, French Representative of the Sino-French Institute; and Nicolas Petit, French Executive Representative.

On October 30, a special meeting was held to discuss deepening collaboration in communication studies between the Sino-French Institute and the Sorbonne’s Faculty of Humanities, where both sides agreed to broaden and deepen their cooperation in the field.
