Vice President Yi Zhihong began the festival by addressing the crowd, and wishing Renmin University a happy 75^th anniversary. The International Olympic committee members were invited onto the stage to celebrate in the inauguration of the International Cultural Festival, along with international students representing their countries dressed in traditional garbs. Renmin University Secretary and Professor Cheng Tianquan announced the beginning of the International Cultural Festival. Afterwards, the participants perused the booths set up by students from all over the world.    The Renmin Univeristy campus’ vibrant international student body was on full display, nationalities set up booths to serve ethnic cuisine, put on dance performances and promote their culture.
