On January 6th, 2024 annual release of China's independent knowledge system achievements, co-organized by Renmin University of China and China National Archives of Publications and Culture was held. The event reviewed China's important original academic achievements and research hotspots in 2024, and released important academic achievements of Renmin University of China, Fudan University, East China Normal University, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Zhang Donggang said that accelerating the construction of independent knowledge system of social sciences with Chinese characteristics is a realistic requirement to support and serve China's modernization, and it is also a glorious mission of universities. RUC will continue to improve the important platform of China’s Independent Knowledge System, and continue to launch major results with all parties to continuously enhance the global influence of Chinese social sciences.
Liu Chengyong said that China National Archives of Publications and Culture has always promoted the planning and coordination of national version resources, and has built a Chinese version collection center, display center, research center and exchange center. China National Archives of Publications and Culture will work hand in hand with Renmin University of China and experts and scholars in various fields to continue to promote cultural prosperity and build a cultural power.
Cui Zhanhui said that at present, digitalization and intelligence are gradually becoming important engines for promoting the development of social sciences. Beijing Federation of Social Sciences is willing to work together with academic institutions and experts in the capital to actively participate in the construction of platforms such as "Academic World" to jointly build a more open and inclusive academic community, help optimize the academic ecology, and contribute wisdom and strength to the construction of China's independent knowledge system.
On behalf of RUC, Lin Shangli donated a series of journals of photocopied newspapers and periodicals, which are well-known secondary documents in domestic and foreign academic circles, to China National Archives of Publications and Culture.
RUC released the construction results of "Academic World, a digital innovation platform for the independent knowledge system of Chinese philosophy and social sciences". "Academic World" is an academic service platform that integrates academic resources, exchanges, communication, and innovation. After its launch, "Academic World" has attracted widespread attention and unanimous praise from the academic community. In just 8 months, more than 28,000 people have registered, and more than 400 journals have been signed for cooperation and co-construction, which has effectively promoted the construction of a new ecological system for academic exchanges and communication.
Xu Yongjun, the person in charge of the construction of "Academic World", released the report "Guidelines, Standards, Examples: Analysis Report on Original Academic Theories in Chinese Philosophy and Social Sciences". The report pointed out that concepts, theories and methods are the core elements of the knowledge system and should be important objects of academic evaluation. The report summarizes the seven characteristics of original academic theories and selects 10 examples of original academic theories in Chinese philosophy and social sciences, namely "Harmonious Management Theory", "State-owned Enterprise Joint Governance Theory", "Five Theories of Engineering Philosophy", "Ancient Chinese Stylistics", "Social Evolution Theory of International Politics", etc.
RUC and Shanghai Federation of Social Sciences jointly released the top ten academic hotspots in China in 2024. Wang Weisong introduced the background, principles and procedures of the selection. The top ten academic hotspots are: theoretical research on Xi Jinping's cultural thoughts, further deepening reforms in an all-round way and promoting Chinese-style modernization, research on new quality productivity, innovation in traditional Chinese ethical thoughts, research on building a strong country through education, structural changes in China's population and high-quality development, value alignment of artificial intelligence, historical writing of "great unification", Sinology, and the evolution of the "global South" and the international order.
