On the afternoon of February 28th, the meeting of 2024 National Social Science Fund Cultural Heritage Protection and Inheritance Research Special Project "Research on Modernization of Cultural Heritage Governance System and Governance Capacity", with Professor Xu Yongjun of the School of Information Resource Management of RUC as the chief expert, and the 2024 Beijing Social Science Fund Planning Project Youth Project "Research on Assessment and Improvement Strategies of Beijing's Cultural Heritage Data Governance Capacity" chaired by Associate Professor Jia Xiaoshuang was held.

Lin Shangli, President of RUC,introduced the university's strategic conception of promoting the construction of humanities and social sciences in the era ofAI, as well as its initiatives in cultural heritage talent training and academic research. He expressed the hope that the two project leaders would base themselves on national strategic needs, adhere to problem orientation, conduct in-depth investigations and research, strive to serve the national and Beijing cultural heritage protection and inheritance work, and contribute to the modernization of the cultural heritage governance system and governance capabilities.

In his report, Xu Yongjun reported on the research background, research objects, research framework and main research contents of the project "Research on the Modernization of Cultural Heritage Governance System and Governance Capacity". Experts believe that the research team is well prepared, the research framework is rigorous, and the research route is clear. They expect that the research will provide policy recommendations for the modernization of the national cultural heritage governance system and governance capacity, and promote the innovative development of theory and practice.

Jia Xiaoshuang reported on the research background, research framework, research content, research methods, work plan, etc. of "Research on the Assessment and Improvement Strategy of Beijing Cultural Heritage Data Governance Capacity" in his opening report. The expert group believes that the project has clear objectives, specific content, and feasible technical paths, and further optimization suggestions have been put forward on research priorities, project collaboration, research plans and sample selection.

Feng Huiling, Dean of the Research Center forDigital Humanities of RUC, Liu Chengyong, Director ofChinaNational Archives of Publications and Culture,Huang Yonglin, Chief Expert of the National Cultural Industry Research Center of Central China Normal University, Wang Xiaoguang, Dean of the School of Information Management of Wuhan University, Song Junhua, Professor of the Chinese Department of Sun Yat-sen University, Qiao Xiuquan, Distinguished Professor of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Wang Yunxia, Director of the Institute of Cultural Heritage Law of Renmin University of China, and Wang Conghu, Professor of the School of Public Administration of Renmin University of China, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Hu Heng, Director of the Institute of Qing History of RUC.
