Renmin University’s Vice-President, Zha Xianyou, International Office Director, Tang Zhong, and Director of the Office for Planning and Development, Yang Weiguo, welcomed the Rutgers University delegation on November 14, 2012. The Rutgers University delegation included Richard Edwards, Interim Executive Vice-President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Wang Jianfeng, Director of Rutgers’ China Programs. Vice-President Zha spoke about the importance of joint programs with top universities like Rutgers, introduced Renmin’s ambitions to expand internationally, and expressed his desire to exchange curriculum materials with Rutgers. Vice-President Edwards expressed his desire for greater student and faculty exchange, as well the benefits of bringing disciplines together to tackle global issues. Renmin University and Rutgers University look forward to collaborating on economic and sociological research projects to develop mutually beneficial solutions.
