On March 13th, Lin Shangli, the President of Renmin University of China, met with a delegation led by Chen Darong, the President of the Singapore University of Social Sciences. Du Peng, the former Vice President of Renmin University of China and Dean of the School of Population and Health, also attended the meeting.

Lin Shangli articulated that the Renmin University of China has proactively addressed the nation's significant strategic imperatives, diligently exploring the interdisciplinary integration of the humanities and social sciences with cutting-edge technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. The university is committed to constructing a comprehensive talent cultivation system that spans undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, innovatively implementing dual-degree joint education initiatives, and consistently launching student-centered research and innovation courses. These efforts are designed to encourage faculty and students to conduct in-depth research on the critical theoretical and practical issues facing China and the global community. He sincerely invited the scholars, experts, and young students of the Singapore University of Social Sciences to visit and engage in academic exchanges. Anticipating the exploration of novel collaborative approaches on the foundation of existing partnerships, he looks forward to further planning and developing short-term training programs aimed at government and corporate managers, thereby contributing to the enhancement of educational cooperation and exchange between the two nations.

Chen Darong stated that, as one of the youngest autonomous universities in Singapore, Singapore University of Social Sciences distinguishes itself through its focus on lifelong education and continuing education, with an emphasis on cultivating applied talents. Currently, the two universities have established a solid foundation for cooperation in the field of healthy aging. In the future, the Singapore University of Social Sciences is willing to further expand cooperation with Renmin University of China in disciplines such as business administration, actively explore innovative collaboration models such as "AI + integrated care," promote mutual visits and exchanges between personnel, and contribute to the advancement of higher education in both countries.

Following the meeting, the delegation proceeded to the School of Population and Health to engage in discussions and exchanges centered around specific academic disciplines.

Accompanying the visit were Chen Peiying, Vice President of Singapore University of Social Sciences; Guo Bilin, Chief Financial Officer; and Lin Lilian, Senior Manager of the External Relations Office. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of Population and Health at Renmin University of China participated in the meeting.
