On March 18th, Renmin University of China (RUC) and the Management Committee of Xiongan New Area in Hebei Province signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement, focusing on the major national strategy of building a "city of the future" and deepening their cooperative relationship. This collaboration aims to create a pioneering model for modernization and mutual development between the university and the city.

Zhang Guohua, Director of the Management Committee of Xiongan New Area, met with a delegation from RUC, including Zhang Donggang, Chair of the University Council of RUC, and Lin Shangli, President of RUC. They signed the "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement between Renmin University of China and Xiongan New Area of Hebei Province."

Zhang Guohua expressed his warm welcome to the RUC delegation and gratitude for the university's support in the development of Xiongan New Area. He highlighted that Xiongan is accelerating large-scale construction and the relocation of non-core functions from Beijing, striving to build a high-level socialist modernized city of the future. He praised RUC's long history, comprehensive disciplines, and unique strengths in the humanities and social sciences, and expressed hope that both sides will leverage their advantages to advance education, technology, and talent development. He emphasized the importance of accelerating the construction of the RUC Affiliated High School in Xiongan and the Xiongan Future Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Research Institute, and creating a new model of university-local cooperation.

Zhang Donggang thanked the Xiongan New Area authorities for their support and introduced RUC's traditions and spirit. He stated that RUC will work with Xiongan New Area to build a high-level education system, including the RUC Affiliated High School in Xiongan, and create a comprehensive education reform demonstration zone. The university will also focus on technological innovation, strengthen the Xiongan Future Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Research Institute, and integrate into the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. These efforts aim to build a pioneering area for modernization and contribute to the overall development of the region.

RUC plans to explore innovative practices in education, technology, and talent development. It will focus on building a high-level education system in Xiongan, creating a high-tech industry cluster, and strengthening university-local cooperation. The university will also promote student entrepreneurship, social practice, and talent training to support Xiongan's development as a key part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei world-class city cluster.

In recent years, RUC and Xiongan New Area have cooperated in education, scientific research, and talent development. Since 2018, RUC has supported Xiongan's education by sending teachers and student volunteers. The university has also conducted research projects, organized social practice activities, and encouraged graduates to work and start businesses in Xiongan, providing strong support for the area's development.
