Introduction to Kant’s "Critique of Pure Reason"
2025.04.21

Immanuel Kant's "Critique of Pure Reason" serves as the foundational work of German classical philosophy. Through its profound critique of human rational capabilities, it delineates the reasonable boundaries of knowledge and pioneeringly constructs a transcendental philosophical system, thoroughly revolutionizing the traditional epistemological paradigm and laying a solid foundation for the development of German classical philosophy. To assist the academic community in systematically and deeply understanding the core ideas of this philosophical masterpiece, the School of Philosophy at Beijing Normal University and the School of Philosophy at Renmin University of China will jointly launch a series of lectures on "Critique of Pure Reason" in the spring semester of 2025.

This series of lectures will be led by Professor Li Qiuzling from the School of Philosophy at Renmin University of China, who plans to systematically explain the entire book at a frequency of once a month (excluding winter and summer vacations). With Professor Li Qiuzling's four-decade-long in-depth research and teaching experience in Kantian philosophy, this lecture series will guide the audience through the complex terminological maze of Kant's philosophy and help them accurately grasp his revolutionary ideas on the structure of human cognition.
