On March 18, 2013, Vice President Yi Zhihong met with James Lee, Vice-Provost (International) of Queen’s University and signed an agreement of students exchange. Zhang Zhiyao from Queen’s China Liaison Office was also in presence. Vice President Yi gave a warm welcome to the guests. She expressed that with a history of long-term friendship and cooperation, Renmin University and Queen’s University made great progress in disciplines of financial and economics, and such cooperation needed to be extended to other fields. She also introduced RUC’s ranking in the latest discipline evaluation to the guests. Dr. Lee, Vice-Provost of Queen’s University, extended his congratulations to RUC on its achievements in the latest ranking, and expressed that the strength of Queen’s University was also social sciences, and plans take Asia, particular China as its research priority for the next few years, so there were larges spaces for the two universities to cooperate. In addition, he expected more cooperation in teacher’s scientific research on the basis of student exchanges, to which President Yi agreed. After the meeting, VP Yi and Dr. Lee signed the International Undergraduate Students Exchange Agreement bewteen Renmin University of China and Queen’s University. Dr. Tang Ke, Deputy Director of Han Qing Advance Institute of Economics and Finance, Ms. Cheng Xin, Deputy Director of International Office and representatives from the School of Finance also attended the meeting.
