Vice President Feng Shigeng Meets with Vice President of Uzbekistan National University

On May 8, Professor Feng Shigeng, Vice President of Renmin University of China (RUC), held a meeting with Lavshan Muxulmofu, Vice President of Uzbekistan National University, and his delegation.

Feng Shigeng said that Uzbekistan, as an important country along the Belt and Road route, is an important participant in the construction of the China - Central Asia Community with a Shared Future. The two sides should take the Belt and Road and New Uzbekistan development strategy as the starting point for cooperation. They should jointly establish a research center and focus on advancing cooperation in five key areas key discipline development, education and training, youth exchanges between the two countries, international scientific research cooperation, and cultural exchange and mutual learning. Both sides should work together to establish new mechanisms to promote cooperation, explore the creation of international scientific research cooperation fund pools, and jointly set up international expert committees. These initiatives aim to provide strong momentum for the efficient advancement and deepening of cooperative projects.

Lavshan Muxulmofu stated that Uzbekistan National University will work with Renmin University of China to accelerate the establishment of the Belt and Road and New Uzbekistan development strategy research center, expand cooperative areas in talent cultivation and scientific research, and promote exchanges and mutual learning between China and Central Asia. He also expressed his expectation to strengthen cooperation with RUC in the field of Chinese teaching, enhance the university's Chinese teaching quality and capacity for international talent cultivation, and promote cross-cultural exchanges and mutual learning.

Komil Inakov, Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Uzbekistan National University, accompanied the delegation. Representatives from the Research Administration, International Cooperation and Exchange Department, and National Development and Strategy Research Institute of RUC also attended the meeting.

Uzbekistan, as one of the important countries in Central Asia, holds a significant position in the Belt and Road construction. It is an important link between China and Central Asia in terms of economy, culture, and politics. The New Uzbekistan development strategy is the country's plan for national development. It emphasizes promoting economic growth and social progress through reform and innovation. The cooperation between China's Belt and Road Initiative and Uzbekistan's New Uzbekistan development strategy provides new opportunities for the development of bilateral relations.

The establishment of the China-Central Asia Community with a Shared Future is of great significance for promoting peace, stability, and development in the China-Central Asia region. It helps to strengthen political mutual trust, economic cooperation, and cultural exchanges between China and Central Asian countries, and jointly address various challenges and threats.
