RUC wins 64 2013 National Science Foundation projects

Lately, the evaluation results of 2013 National Science Foundation projects were announced. RUC won 64 2013 National Science Foundation Projects, among them, is 1 National Science Foundation Project For Outstanding Youth, 1 International Cooperation and Exchange program, 1 Priority project, 39 General Programs, and 22 Youth Science Foundation Projects. The total funds is 35,127,000 yuan( compared with last year’s 34,320,000 for 69 projects) Early this year, RUC declared altogether 187 projects, including 8 National Science Foundation for outstanding youth, 5 priority projects, 3 international cooperation and exchange projects, 2 overseas, Hong Kong and Macao scholars cooperation foundations, 104 general foundations, 8 science foundations for outstanding youth, 56 youth science foundations and 1 joint foundation project. In terms of discipline, 39 projects fell into administrative science departments, 25 to other departments. In terms of schools and departments, 15  were funded. School of Finance topped with 16 funded projects; School of Agricultural Economics and Rural  Development got 8 projects funded, Department of Physics and Chemistry 6, School of Information 5, School of Statistics and Economics 4, and other schools 15. 37.5% of RUC projects were approved this year, compared with 35.04% in 2012. 39.29% of youth science foundation projects are approved, compared with 41.30% last year. RUC approval rates of both the foundations are higer than the average Prof. Mao Jiye from School of Business’s international cooperation project is the first of this kind in RUC. Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance’s A.P Tang Ke’s outstanding youth foundation project is also approved after public notice. Moreover, other key projects were also funded.
