University of Stuttgart delegation visits RUC for broader cooperation

On Nov. 5, RUC Vice President Yi Zhihong met with Professor Nico Sneeuw, chairman of China Committee, University of Stuttgart. Director Heiko Richter of International Office and Cai Jianqing, senior consultant of Chinese affairs were in attendance. 985A9374 On behalf of RUC, Vice President Yi bit a warm welcome to Professor Sneeuw for his first visit to the university.  She expressed gratitude to the fact that the Department of Literature, University of Stuttgart gave endorsement to the construction of the German Department, RUC, with a brief to disciplinary uniqueness and international development strategies of the school. She expected to see broader and deeper interscholastic collaboration, and hoped that the two sides can achieve more student communication on computer, environment and natural science, fields where University of Stuttgart has advantageous sources.  Professor Sneeuw first gave thanks to the school’s warm reception, and spoke highly of its campus environment and academic level. He introduced to the university’s discipline growing, international development idea and its existing cooperation with Chinese universities.  Then Director Richter gave an introduction to the school’s overseas students and cooperation with China Scholarship Council, and expressed his expectations to carry on joint master training program with RUC. The two sides reached preliminary consensus on renewing interscholastic agreement and starting student exchange. Deputy Director Cheng Xin of International Office and Zhang Yan from School of Foreign Languages also attended the event. 985A9414 Located in southwest Germany, the University of Stuttgart is especially known for its excellent reputation in the fields of advanced engineering and humanities. It was founded in 1829 and consists of 10 schools and over 150 departments. The university has 5000 teaching faculties and over 22600 students in enrollment.
