Vice-President Yi Zhihong Attends the Second UK-China High Level People to People Dialogue

RENMIN UNIVERSITY, 23 April 2014: Vice-President Yi Zhihong of Renmin University of China attended the second UK-China High Level People to People Dialogue (P2P) as a representative of Chinese universities on the afternoon of 23 April. The theme for this year was “Shared Futures.” Chinese Vice-Premier Liu Yandong and Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt MP  co-chaired the Dialogue  at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing. The meeting is the first of its kind held in China since the initiation of P2P. On the same day, three British students studying at RUC participated in the “UK-China Student Moments: Celebrating 40 years of student exchange” Seminar at the Diaoyutai State Guest House. Participants held in-depth discussions on three themes, including building a modern university system, cooperation between universities and industries and China-UK educational cooperation and joint talents training. Vice-President Yi chaired the meeting on China-UK educational cooperation and joint talents training. Vice-President Yi analyzed challenges facing educational cooperation between China and the UK, and put forward suggestions on strengthening this collaboration from both sides’ perspectives. Government officials, educational institutions and representatives from over 20 universities from China and the UK also attended the meeting.
