RENMIN UNIVERSITY, 4 Sep. 2014 (Via RUC English News): On September 3, 2014, Renmin University of China started the registration for international freshmen, prior to its official registration for Chinese students on September 9, 2014. This year, RUC has enrolled a total number of 651 international students, including 286 undergraduates, 135 graduates and 230 non-degree students. The international students who are to study in RUC this autumn mainly come from 54 countries, including Korea, Japan, Russia, Netherlands, France, USA, Mongolia, Italy, Finland, Thailand, Zimbabwe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Ireland, Denmark, German, Czech, Luxembourg, Portugal, Sweden, Spain, England, Montenegro, Swiss, Armenia, Albania, Israel, Ukraine, Norway, Azerbaijan, Philippians, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Burma, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Iraq, Iran, India, Chile, Argentina, Panama, Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico, Salvador, Venezuela, Peru, Eritrea, Guinea-Bissau, Niger, Equatorial-Guinea, Syria, Chad, Ethiopia, Gambia and Zambia. To further implement the university’s project of “optimizing service and support for international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan” and to be well prepared for the international freshmen registration, International Office administers the commencement registration nice and neat, collaborating with Student affairs Office, Department of Academics, Dormitory Management Office and school clinic. IDEA, a student association committed to serving international students and organizing multicultural exchange activities, is fully involved in the registration. IDEA also launches Language Partner Project to assist international students to enhance their Chinese language ability and to adapt to the campus life in RUC ASAP.
