RUC Art Troupe Debuts at Beijing’s Grand National Theater

On September 29
th, the Renmin University Art Troupe gave its debut performance at Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts, or “Grand National Theater.” RUC’s Adili Wubulihuasheng, a graduate student in the College of Liberal Arts, directed the play. “Xiaoka’s Secret,” which belongs to the modern genre of socio-critical drama, is the first of its kind to be performed by RUC players. It tells the story of how elderly citizens are taken advantage of in sly financial scams under the guise of selling them pensions or insurance policies. This type of theater is staged with the goal of informing people on the dangers posed by imposters and creating awareness about different modern-day forms of financial fraud.
