On the afternoon of November 10th, Vice President YI Zhihong met with visiting Vice Presidents Sylvaine Hughes (Vice President for International Affairs) and Christophe Bréchet of Paris West University Nanterre La Défense (Nanterre). Director of Nanterre’s International Office, Muriel De Flavis, as well as the Director for Chinese Affairs, Shuyan Han-Benoit, also accompanied the delegation. Sylvaine Hughes introduced the new leadership of Nanterre and gave an overview of the university’s academic strengths and disciplinary concentrations, which are similar to those of RUC. The VP’s reflected on the history of the two universities’ collaboration, discussing student exchanges and joint academic projects in law, philosophy, and other disciplines. RUC Vice President YI Zhihong offered an introduction to RUC’s Sino-French institute, reiterating RUC’s commitment to strengthening the French studies program and comprehensively advancing cooperation between the two schools.
