President of University College Dublin Visits RUC

On December 18
th, President of University College Dublin, Andrew Deeks, visited Renmin University of China. He was joined by Vice President Michael Monaghan, as well as Directors of the University College Dublin (UCD) Confucius Institute, WANG Liming and CAI Yong. RUC President LIU Wei and Vice President YI Zhihong welcomed the delegation.

President Deeks expressed his deep appreciation for the partnership between his university and RUC and the opportunities for academic exchange introduced with the establishment of UCD’s Confucius Institute.

President LIU congratulated Deeks on the outstanding work of the UCD Confucius Institute, the first established in Ireland, which serves as a base not only for Chinese language instruction but also for research on China.

University College Dublin was founded in 1854 by John Henry Newman. It is known as “Ireland’s most International University.”
