RUC Vice Chairman WU Fulai Speaks at Xinhua Forum on Higher Education

On December 4
th, Xinhua News Network broadcast its annual discussion forum on higher education,
Voices in Education. This year’s theme was “Building the Future.” Noted scholars and educational experts from across the country attended the discussion, which centered on innovation in Chinese higher education.

RUC Vice Chairman of the University Council WU Fulai attended the forum and spoke about entrepreneurship education. WU stressed that Renmin University attaches great importance to innovating its student entrepreneurship training; RUC was selected among universities nationwide to introduce the national innovation and entrepreneurship pilot program. In 2012, Renmin introduced a new roadmap for undergraduate education, lending entrepreneurship education an important place on RUC’s talent training agenda.
Chairman WU supports a comprehensive approach to entrepreneurship education in RUC’s undergraduate program that not only focuses on classroom instruction, but also incorporates practical training.

This year’s
Voices in Education forum presented an important platform for in-depth dialogue and exchange among China’s foremost educationalists, university chairpersons and presidents from different cities to explore recent developments and the road ahead for Chinese higher education reforms.
