Vice President YI Zhihong Travels to Jordan to Attend the China-Arab States University Presidents Forum

th of September, the fourth “China-Arab States University Presidents Forum” was held in Amman, Jordan. The Vice-President of Renmin University YI Zhihong attended the forum, also taking the opportunity for a campus tour of the University of Jordan.

th, the 4
th session of the “China-Arab States University Presidents Forum” was held at Jordan’s Zarqa University, sponsored by the Government of the Ninxia Hui Autonomous Region, and the Association of Arab Universities. The theme of the forum was “Fortify the Traditional Friendship Between China and the Arab States, Deepen the Mutually Beneficial Collaborative Partnership,” and almost 300 representatives from over 32 Chinese universities, as well as representatives of over 50 institutions from 13 Arab nations such as Egypt, Jordan, the UAE and Lebanon were in attendance at the opening ceremony. The Chinese Ambassador to Jordan PAN Weifang, and the Jordanian Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister were in attendance and gave speeches during the opening ceremony.
Vice President YI Zhihong and University of Jordan’s Vice Chancellor Azmi Mahafza hosted the opening forum together, with the theme being “A Dialogue on Strengthening Collaboration Between Academic Institutions of China and the Arab States.” Former Jordanian Prime Minister and Chair of the Board of Directors of the University of Jordan Adnan Badran gave a speech during the forum.
On the 27
th, Vice-President YI attended bilateral talks between academic institutions from China and the Arab States. During these talks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Vice-President YI on behalf of Renmin University and Vice-Chancellor Mahmoud Hussein Al-Wadi of Zarqa University, signifying the intention of the two institutions to promote intercollegiate collaboration.
On the 28
th, the forum and representatives of the academic institutions proceeded to the University of Jordan for a tour of the campus.
