On the morning of the 30^th, the Chief Education Inspector from the Jilin Provincial Department of Education XU Shishan, newly appointed Dean of the Jilin Province Examination Department ZHENG Jingguo and associate Dean LI Yaosong travelled together to RUC to meet with Vice President HONG Dayong. To begin the meeting, Vice President HONG welcomed the delegation to RUC, expressing his gratitude on their visit. He stated that many of RUC’s students come from Jilin, and that the province is an important site for recruitment. It was not long ago that RUC President LIU Wei held talks with the leaders of Changchun’s education institutions on student recruitment, and the talks were very fruitful. The Jilin Department of Education and the Examination Department have always been of great assistance to RUC, for which RUC would like to extend its thanks. He concluded by stating that in the future, RUC wants to continue its relationship with these departments, so that Jilin’s talented students can come to RUC and take advantage of our high quality education, and utilise their knowledge to contribute to the development of the economy and society in the northeast. Chief Education Inspector XU then made some remarks, expressing the importance with which their departments view RUC, that it is a desirable destination in the eyes of Jilin’s students, that they will continue to support the RUC in the task of student recruitment, and continue collaborative efforts. He noted that the departments will continue to support RUC to the best of their ability, so as to assist their student achieve their ambitions of study at RUC. During the talks both sides deliberated such issues as examination reforms and methods of student recruitment. RUC Student Recruitment Office Director WANG Xiaohu and Deputy Director REN Miaomiao also attended the tallks.
