On the evening of the 29^th of December, jointly sponsored by the RUC President’s Office, the School of Arts, and the University Council’s Youth League, the 2017 New Year’s Concert was held in RUC’s Ming De Hall. The concert was attended by many of the University’s leaders, including the University Council’s Executive Vice Chairman ZHANG Jianming and Vice Chairman WU Fulai, and the Dean of the School of Arts DING Fang, who together with the teachers and students enjoyed a show that was indeed a feast for the ears! The concert was performed by RUC’s School of Arts Youth Orchestra, the Student’s Art Assembly Symphony Orchestra, and the School of Arts’ Aike Choir, who performed many outstanding numbers for the audience, giving a breathtaking performance that was the perfect way to ring in the new year. RUC has a long heritage of arts education; it is devoted to developing the arts and humanities, continuously supports the artistic pursuits of its students, and promotes the mingling of the arts and the sciences. The New Year’s concert began in 2002, and this year was its 14^th year running. It is widely acclaimed by students and teachers, and has become a yearly tradition at RUC.
