Executive Vice President of RUC Prof. WANG Liming and delegation visit Israel

On April 1st to 5th, Executive Vice President of RUC Prof. WANG Liming and representatives visited Israel. Representatives visited Tel Aviv University in Israel, Embassy of the Republic of China in the Republic in the State of Israel, Israel Agricultural Drip Irrigation Training Base, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and other various organizations.

On April 2, RUC Executive VP WANG and delegation went to visit Tel Aviv University, and met with Vice President Raanan Rein to discuss cooperation. Executive VP WANG expressed that Tel Aviv University is a very well-known, highly prestigious and influential university, a very important partner of RUC. Both universities already have a solid foundation of cooperation having partnered together in the past for many years, both with first-class Schools of Business and Law. RUC highly respects their cooperation with Tel Aviv University, and hopes to jointly build new areas of development in Shenzhen and collaborate more on future projects.

Tel Aviv University Vice President Raanan Rein briefed the visiting party on the University’s current advances and recalled the long partnerships and cooperation exchanges of the past between the two universities. He then spoke highly of China Renmin University Press and the achievements that the branch schools and partnerships have garnered. WANG and Raanan went on to discuss how to increase teacher and student exchange, deepen the partnership in joint research and issues, partnerships in research, suggestions and ideas for creating new platforms for communication.

At the meeting, both sides discussed development of a new joint-university summer programs, where RUC will send a group of students to Tel Aviv to take part in the programs.

Vice President of Tel Aviv University Hila Shamir, School of Management Vice President Shai Danziger, and International Affairs representative Danna Mattas-Appleerot also were in attendance.

At Tel Aviv University, RUC VP WANG visited Confucius Institute, and listened to reports from Head of Foreign Affairs Asaf Godschmidt and Head of China Affairs WU Yang. He encouraged Confucius Institute teachers, volunteers, and students to participate in exchanges at RUC.

On April 3, VP WANG and delegation visited the Embassy of the Republic of China in the Republic in the State of Israel, and met with the Interim Affairs representative CAI Weiming, and Head of the Education Department JIANG Yandong. Representative CAI expressed that within the past 10 years, exchange with China has grown immensely, with both sides looking forward to future cooperation, and accelerated development in different domains, and both are seeing great success in the partnership. China is already Israel’s 2nd biggest trade partner in Asia. He hopes to promote even more exchange and the next step with the 7+7 program, to cultivate youth and generation of great people, hoping that the Confucius Institute will help to spread Chinese culture and language. VP WANG also introduced the future plans for exchanges between Israel and RUC, and hopes that the embassies will continue to provide support.

On April 3, VP WANG and delegation visited with the Israel Agricultural Drip Irrigation Training Base to investigate the development of agriculture and understand Israel’s agricultural base’s operation model and service behavior.

On April 4, VP WANG and delegation visited the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where they met with Vice Presidents Oron Shagrir and Rafi Aviram of the International Office. VP WANG stated that Hebrew University of Jerusalem is a very traditional and influential university that respects and values its partnership with RUC. He hopes to expand the number of teachers and students that participate in exchange visits on both sides in law and business administration, and hopes that in Shenzhen, there can be new areas of cooperation.

RUC International Deputy Director LI Zhenshi, Shenzhen Research Institute Executive Vice President ZHANG Lixiang, Confucius Institute at Tel Aviv University China Affairs Dean WU Yang, and other distinguished delegates accompanied the visit.
