On November 19th, the Opening Ceremony of RUC Startup Business Fair and RUC Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Award were held. As an RUC flagship student innovation project, the RUC Startup Fair was jointly organized by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Academic Affairs Office, and RUC Cultural and Science Incubator, in aim of cultivating creative college students, providing communication platform for entrepreneurial teams, and creating friendly atmosphere for innovations in campus. This year’s activity theme is “New Generation Entrepreneur.” At the opening ceremony, Prof. GU Tao, Vice President of RUC, gave a speech for the students. He said that the event had successfully integrated the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship into general education, and had equipped students with better practical skills. Renmin University of China has first-class theoretical and academic foundations for innovation and entrepreneurship. He hoped that students interested in starting their own business give full play to their innovative talent, taking social responsibilities while making achievements in a down-to-earth manner. Representatives of the RUC Entrepreneurship Practice Project winner team shared their program ideas and personal growth stories. The Startup Business Fair covered products of innovative technology, traditional culture and characteristic food. By product display and multimedia interactions, startup teams presented the highlights of their projects, meanwhile RUC faculties and students were able to closely experience achievements of entrepreneurship education and the trend of entrepreneurship culture.
