2020.12.08
On the evening of November 28th, RUC Peking Opera Club gave a special campus performance “Peking Vibration.” Members of the Peking Opera Club repeatedly polished their show and presented the audience with a feast of Chinese cultural essence. The performance included four traditional Peking opera episodes: "Silang’s Visit to His Mother - Sitting in the Palace" (四郎探母•坐宫), “The Legend of Taizhen – A Wish to the Vega Star" (太真外传•乞巧盟誓), "Fishing for Golden Tortoises"(钓金龟) and "The Matchmaker" (红娘). "Sitting in the Palace" (坐宫) tells the story of general YANG Silang from Song begging his wife the Princess of Liao for the permit to visit his mother in the Song troop. “The Legend of Taizhen” (太真外传) tells the love of story Lady YANG Yuhuan and Emperor Xuanzong of Tang dynasty. The Peking Opera Club of the RUC Student Art Troupe was founded in 2002. Members of the club are RUC students who are also Pekin Opera fans. They participate in performances in Chinese Opera Culture Week, Campus Music Corner and Campus Special Performances not only to enjoy the stage, but also to gain deeper understandings to Chinese art and spread it to more people.
