On December 3rd, the Inaugural Ceremony of the Academic Association for International Cultural Exchange (AAICE) and the Symposium on International Cultural Exchange in the New Era were held in RUC. AAICE was initiated by Renmin University of China, and 23 institutes and universities has joined the association. The aim of AAICE is to innovate academic cooperation mechanism in international cultural exchanges and to jointly study the major issues in cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries in the new era. By means of nominating and voting, Prof. JIN Nuo was elected President of the Executive Council of the Association. 22 Vice Presidents and 22 members of the Executive Council were also elected. President JIN awarded the appointment letter to the elected Vice Presidents. From the afternoon of December 3^rd, the two-day Symposium on International Cultural Exchange in the New Era was held by the School of Chinese Classics RUC. Nearly a hundred scholars and students from Peking University, Renmin University of China, Nanjing University, Sichuan University, Lanzhou University, National Palace Museum, China Tibetology Research Center, Chinese Academy of Cultural Heritage, Inner Mongolia Academy of Social Science, China Foreign Affairs University, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Shanghai International Studies University, Shanxi Normal University and other higher education institutes jointed the conference.
