On the afternoon of May 18th, the Pioneer Talent Forum of Renmin University of China (RUC) and the Second Grassroots Young Alumni Growth Forum were held. The forum was jointly organized by the Department of Enrollment and Career, the Alumni Office and RUC Education Foundation.
With the theme of “Enlightening the way and talking about growth”, the forum is aimed at building a better communication bridge connecting university, alumni and students, and creating a more solid and multi-dimensional employment education community while advancing it.
Lin Shangli, President of RUC attended the forum and delivered a speech. Qing Geletu, Minister of Organization Department, presided over the forum.
Lin Shangli fully affirmed the Pioneer Talent Camp model of complete-period employment training. He stressed that RUC has always adhered to the mission of cultivating talents for the country. Our university actively promotes the construction of pioneering talents education system, helping RUC students to stay on track, work hard and gain great achievements.
For those graduates who are about to work at grassroots, Lin put forward five requirements. First, maintain the unique spirit and temperament of RUC; Second, take national responsibility, national aspiration and the mission of the times; Third, seek the truth from facts and maintain honest and pragmatic towards work and life; Fourth, put the interests of people first and seek happiness for the people; Fifth, be courageous to create and be willing to contribute.
For those students who are going to or aspired to join the grassroots, he also expressed four expectations. He encouraged the students to improve their personal capability, learn from the practice, treat others with kindness and dare to take responsibility and pursue career success with great ambition.
Liu Guojun, Deputy Mayor of Pingliang City, Gansu Province, and alumnus of the School of Information, and Hong Lue, Deputy Director of Wanli Administration Bureau in Nanchang and alumnus of the School of Marxism Studies, delivered speeches as alumni representatives.
Liu Guojun said that returning to university to participate in the forum made him deeply feel the great importance the university attaches to the work of alumni at grassroots. He shared his working insights: retain original intention whiling working, strive to root in the grassroots and adhere to truth and reality.
Hong lue said that as a grassroots cadre, we should strengthen our ideals and beliefs, and shoulder social responsibilities. We must pay attention to the real interests of the people and stay closely to the people. It is also necessary to be diligent in learning and thinking, to promote social development and progress according to the trend, and to contribute youth energy to the country.
Tian Sisi, graduate of Renmin Business School with master degree, and Zhang Yun, master graduate of School Agriculture Economics and Rural Development, gave voices as the representatives of Pioneer Talent Camp. After studying in the Camp, they said that they were more aware of the sentiment and responsibility at grassroots, and the importance of carrying out in-depth field research among the local people. In the future, they would continue to improve themselves, take up the mission, untiringly strive and dedicate to the grassroots and also wherever the country needs most.
More than 300 attendants, including alumni representatives from provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, representatives of the 2024 and 2025 Pioneer Talent Camp, the campus commissioner of the Pioneer Talent university-local Co-education Plan and officers in charge of student employment work in each department attended the forum.
