On the morning of October the 19th, Vice President Yang Huilin welcomed a delegation of distinguished faculty from the University of Montreal. Vice Rector of International Relations, Helen Davis, led the presentation of the University of Montreal’s disciplines and characteristics.
The University of Montreal has 16 faculties and schools, 7,000 international students, 15,800 Master’s and Doctoral students, and is known for bilingualism of French and English. Vice President Yang, having visited Montreal, complimented the delegation on their city’s quiet and clean environment, idyllic for scholars of all backgrounds. Director of the Department of Chemistry, Robert Prud’homme, spoke strongly about the opportunities for foreign students to enroll in PhD programs in mathematics, physics, computer science, biology, engineering and chemistry.
Renmin University and the University of Montreal shared the idea of diversifying and internationalizing their campuses, and agreed that greater student and faculty exchange is in the best interest of both universities.
