Vice President Wang Liming and Vice Chairman of RUC University Council met Prof. Gianmaria Ajani, president of University of Turin (UNITO) on October 11, Friday. Wang expressed his expectation of expanding the cooperation between the two universities.  Prof. Ajani’s visit in RUC was accompanied by Loredana Segreto, director of Department of General Affairs, University of Turin, and Stefania Stafutti, Cultural Counsellor of Italian Embassy to Beijing.  During the meeting, Vice President Wang Liming congratulated Prof. Ajani, who is a well-known expert in law science, on his presidency. Recalling his memories of visiting University of Turin, Wang expressed that the two universities should expand cooperation in all respects on the basis of current exchanges in law science.  Wang also introduced the strong disciplines of RUC, International Summer School, and English master degree programs which is fully conducted by English to Italian guests.  “I am very pleased to visit RUC once again after becoming the president,” Prof. Ajani said. He introduced joint programs operated by UNITO and other Chinese universities, as well as the Research Center for Contemporary China in UNITO.  In his suggestion, Prof. Ajani expects the two universities to initiate a seminar on “China in the perception of Europeans and Europe in the perception of Chinese”, aiming at discussions about the comparison of society, law, culture and other hotspot issues in both Europe and China.  Prof. Ajani’s suggestions acquired positive response from Vice President Wang Liming, who expects that the seminar will be the starting point of the cooperation between the two universities.  Those who also attended the meeting are Dr. Zhang Xiaojing, Director of International Office, RUC, He Jiahong and Lijun from School of Law, RUC.   Prof. Ajani’s delegation continued to visit the School of Law, RUC after the meeting, accompanied by Shi Yanan, Vice Dean of School of Law, RUC.
