RENMIN UNIVERSITY, 10 May 2014: The 2014 Youth Day Gala was held tonight in Mingde Hall. Thousands of students turned out enjoy this feast for the eyes.
The gala was held in honor of the May Fourth Movement, an anti-imperialist, anti-feudal, political and cultural youth movement from 1917-1921.
Dancers from all the schools collaborated on the brilliant Flying Youth dance. RUC idols sang the pop songs like ‘Bubbles’, ‘As Time Fades Away’, and other favorites.
They also revived the cross talks, ‘Job Hunting’, which had won gold in the Youth Day Arts Festival. The cross talks pay homage to the original performance 20 years ago. The audience could feel the nostalgia but also the vigor of youth.

The School of Business won the championship in the Youth Day Arts Festival contest, with the School of Finance and the Law School winning runner-up and the third place respectively. Zhang Jianming, Executive Vice Chairman of the University Council, presented the top three contestants with trophies.
The gala drew to a close with the poetry reading ‘China Dream, RUC Feelings’, presented by poetry lovers from all schools.
The 20th Youth Day was sponsored by The School League Committee and co-sponsored by the Student Union of RUC. The event launched in March 2014. More than 5000 people have participated.
