Executive Vice President of Korea University Jaeho Yeom visited RUC

Renmin University:  Today Yi Zhihong, Vice President for International Affairs and Alumni Development met with Jaeho Yeom, Executive Vice President for Administration & External Affairs of Korea University. D16T6886 Yi Zhihong welcomed Jaeho Yeom back to RUC. Their conversation probed topics like cooperation in summer school and degree programs. Vice President Yi said that Renmin University has established long-term cooperation with Korea University. Over the years, RUC has made great efforts to draw both schools closer. She hoped that both sides cooperate on more programs and strengthen the relation between each other. The two universities have a long and close relationship, Executive Vice President Jaeho Yeom said. She said that she hoped Korea Hall, which was jointly built by RUC and Korea University, would provide room for activities co-organized by both universities, as well as for interaction between teachers and students. Both universities have witnessed frequent exchanges of high-level visits, intimate communication between teachers and students from both sides and cooperation on research since the Intercollegiate Cooperation Agreement was signed in 1997. In 2009, both universities signed the Student Exchange Agreement, enabling 20 students to go for an exchange visit each year. D16T6933 The International Culture Exchange Center of RUC was jointly built by RUC and KU, deemed as symbol of friendship between both schools. The center was completed and put into use in September 2009. The center is gaining in importance, as place to meet and accomodation for foreign faculties, visiting scholars and overseas students. Korea University Hall, which is on the second floor, is mainly used as venue for various programs cooperated by RUC and KU. Korea University Hall will be put into use in July, 2014.
