On May 18, the 2014 Capital Universities’ Student Tennis League was held by the Federation of University Sports of Beijing (Tennis Branch). The RUC tennis team won all the four championships: men A, women A, men B, and women B groups. There were 15 universities and 29 teams in the competition. In the group games, both men A group and B group reached the final eight at 3:0. The women group made it to the final four with the first place as well. During elimination games and semi-finals, which were more intense, the RUC teams made it to the finals with strong basic skills and cooperative spirit. In the final game, first singles and doubles began at the same time. Zhu Jiwei, the first single, beat the rival with forehand strokes. The doubles, Li Meng and Yang Haotian, beat the rivals at 6:0. The men B group won the champion at 2:0 in total. In the women’s singles, RUC met University of International Business and Economics. The first single Fan Yujie beat the rival and the second single Lin Zhou beat the rival at 6:2, which won the last team champion in the games. Therefore, RUC won every individual event they participated in. The annual Capital Universities’ Student Tennis League is a great opportunity for tennis lovers to learn from and communicate with each other. In this year’s League, the RUC tennis team made a historical breakthrough after the national champion last year with outstanding skills and sport spirits.
