This March, the Nepalese Prime Minister, K. P. Sharma Oli, came to the People’s Republic to attend the 2016 Bo’ao Forum for Asia – “Asia's New Future: New Dynamics, New Vision” – held annually in Hainan’s eastern coastal town of Bo’ao since 2011. The Prime Minister’s attendance at the conference was coupled with a formal state visit. On the morning of March 22^nd, Prime Minister Oli visited Renmin University and joined the 2016 China-Nepal Think Tank Dialogue on the Belt and Road Initiative with a lecture on building ‘One Belt, One Road’ and working together toward a prosperous future. The visit is said to have been among Prime Minister Oli’s first public appearances on an official state visit to the PRC since taking office, as well as the first time he participated in a university-organized event in China.
