President LIU Wei Visits Korea University, Joins East Asia-Nordic/Benelux University Consortium Conference

th, RUC President LIU Wei led an academic delegation to visit Korea University, where they met for an informal get-together and discussion with the university’s leadership and RUC students on academic exchanges and participated in the East Asia-Nordic/Benelux University Consortium Conference, which this year was hosted by Korea University. The conference coincided with the university’s 111
th anniversary celebration this May.

On May 4
th, President LIU Wei met with his Korean counterpart, Korean University President YEOM Jae-ho, to explore avenues of extending cooperation between the two schools in the near future. President YEOM described the relationship between the two sides as a strong academic partnership. He hopes that his university and RUC will further strengthen their student exchanges, as well as continue projects organized through the Korea University Beijing Center, which is located in RUC’s Korean Hall. President LIU discussed the potential of the partnership between the two universities and introduced some of the work of RUC’s Korean Hall in more detail, including some of the service projects organized by Korean exchange students studying at RUC.

The RUC delegation went on to attend the consortium conference. Other universities represented included Fudan University, Waseda University, Tsukuba University, University of Oslo, the University of Amsterdam, the University of Leuven, and others.

On the final day of their visit, delegates joined Korea University’s 111
th anniversary celebration; President Liu offered his congratulations in a short speech.
