On June 3^rd, RUC President LIU Wei and Vice President HONG Dayong welcomed representatives of Wageningen University and Research Centre in the Netherlands for talks on advancing academic cooperation between the two institutions. Rector of Wageningen UR (WUR), Arthur Mol, and Consultant to WUR’s International Office, Paul Geurts, met with Renmin University leadership and representatives of RUC’s International Office in RUC’s Mingde Building. President LIU welcomed the delegation and noted that WUR enjoys an excellent reputation around the world, particularly for its teaching and research in the fields of environmental, natural, and agricultural sciences. Renmin University of China is an elite university and leading institution in the Chinese humanities and social sciences. It strategically promotes the development of interdisciplinary research institutes, programs for talent development, as well as faculty and student exchanges and collaborative projects with universities around the world. Both President LIU and Rector Mol hope to see further cooperation between the two schools, in particular, as Mol noted, in the fields of law, environmental sciences, and sociology.
